This 7 year-old has been fully vetted ( including dental and blood work )She enjoys walks/ hikes and is great with other dogs ( cats too ! ) she recently took a nap with a cat on her back :) Most of all, she loves people but will likely gravitate toward a female in the family to bond with, due to her past attachment.Perfect medium size dog with a very loving, sweet nature ( maybe not a dog who would take well to being left on her own all day - she prefers mohave company - certainly a dog you can take anywhere with you without concern - like most ... Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This cute white, speckled girl with a docked tail is Dottie Joe. She is a 1 year old Australian Cattledog/Pointer mix and she is a gem. Her shelter records say she is part bully breed. We don't see it, but if you have a breed restriction, then you are missing out on this great dog. Dottie Joe found herself at a shelter and somehow had the spirits to play with her female roommate, which is how we noticed her. Dottie Joe and Darla Dee (see her separate listing) gently played with each other and kept each other company. Now, both are living large at their foster home, waiting for their forever home. They are not bonded and can be adopted ... (Read More)separately. However, if you want two amazing girls, they would love to go home together. Dottie Joe is people and dog friendly. She is fun, loving, and ready to have a good time. She does have a habit of jumping up to get attention, so her foster mom is working on showing her how to be polite. She has a happy-go-lucky temperament and will make a wonderful family dog. Dottie Joe is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is ready to meet potential adopters in So Cal. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

Rocco is a loving year and a half old mix queensland and terrier. He loves playing with other dogs and is very playful and active. He is currently an indoor dog and requires more daily activity and stimulation. He'd do well in a family with other dogs (preferably other queenslands or bigger breeds) along with an area to run and play. He is still territorial over his toys and requires a bit of training in that area

This cute girl is Rollo. She is an Australian Cattledog mix, possibly with Kelpie. We think she was born in mid April. She is sweet a chocolate bar and ready for an active home. She will benefit from a family who is interested in training a pup to be a great dog. Hershey and her two siblings were left in a taped box next to a trash can. One man's trash is another man's treasure? We don't understand how someone can dump an animal, let alone one this perfect. Hershey is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.     Meet Ears. Aren't they one of her best features? This darling Cattledog pup was born on May 9 in our rescue to a Cattledog mom who came to us with her breeding partner. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-07-00616Tiggy (male)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is Tiggy, a 6 year old, 35 pounds Australian Cattledog. Tiggy is just what you expect: smart and alive. He knows sit, stay, here, go home (to bed in the kennel), wait (to eat food), down, roll over, and fetch. He knows to jump into your arms on command, gives his paw, and will catch food that is tossed into the air. Tiggy is a good boy in the house. He is house trained and crate trained. He is also good with men and kids, though he is better with older kids than with younger kids. Tiggy is also good with large and small dogs. However, he doesn't like to be picked on by small dogs who somehow always seem to get in his face and pick on ... (Read More)him. So, small dog pals should be polite to him for him to be happy. Besides, Tiggy is a nice guy. He is even good with cats. Tiggy loves to fetch. Loves it. Yep. He wants a pal who will fetch with him. Tiggy is a great pal for adventures, too. He is nice on the leash and doesn't pull. He loves to be a running partner. He also loves the car and really enjoys going for rides. He also loves water and is a great swimmer. At the end of the day, Tiggy will cuddle. His people can't keep him because he isn't getting along with one kiddo in the family. So, to be safe, they are working to find a new home for him. He will do best in a home that knows the breed, so if you are new to Cattledogs, we will expect you to have experience with other herders in order for Tiggy to be a fit for you Tiggy is current on vaccinations. He will be neutered prior to adoption. He is available to potential adopters in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-07-00177Kaipo (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kaipo means sweetheart in Hawaiian and that definitely describes this sweet girl. She is a 3 year old Husky/Canaan Dog/Cattledog mix who is looking for new home that will keep her active. She was born on July 23, 2014. She is currently located in Santa Cruz, CA. Kaipo weighs about 45 pounds. She is a great size for hiking and other outdoor activities. She is nice on leash, but can tug a bit when she is excited to go somewhere. She is also a good passenger in the car. She would love a home that takes her on adventures. Kaipo is a smart and well trained girl. She knows sit, down, stay, off, and sometimes 'leave it.' She also knows how to ... (Read More)shake, give a high five, and give a hug, all on command. Kaipo is polite in the house. She is house trained. She is also good with people, men and women, though she hasn't been around small kids much. Kaipo is good with other dogs as long as there is a polite introduction. She was attacked at the dog park, so is not obviously a bit nervous at first. She won't be a dog park gal but is an amazing hiking partner. So, she will be easy to keep active in a home that heads to the hills and mountains often. Walking with any new dog that she meets gets her comfortable. So, a relaxed dog would be fine but super energetic dogs will make her nervous. Once she knows the dog, she does like to play. Kaipo is also good with cats that she knows. That said, she does guard her food. So, her owner just needs to be sure that other pets aren't getting into Kaipo's food bowl or taking a treat from her. Kaipo is a sweet and happy girl. She loves greeting everyone. She currently goes to work with her person and lays on the office floor on her back begging for belly rubs. She has a lot of character and is very funny. Must be double jointed because she lays in hilarious positions. For some reason she does not have some of her side teeth and so occasionally her tongue hangs out the side of her mouths. It's adorable. Kaipo is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is ready to meet potential adopters. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

(Courtesy Post) This is Bandi. She is a loving, mellow senior who is terrific with cats & kids. She's dog selective. She was jumped at a a doggy day care. Since then, she's a bit on the defense but you can't blame her for that. She was great at our mobile adoption hanging out with the big dogs. Approx 11 years old, 23 pounds (perfect medium size), walks great on leash, house trained, not a yapper, no health issues. We are guessing she's a cattle dog / Springer spaniel mix. Spayed, vaccinated, chipped. She loves people! If you are looking for a easy breezy pup, contact us at INFO@LAAR.ORG .

This cute girl is Hershey. She is an Australian Cattledog mix. She is ready for adoption in So Cal. A home visit and vet reference are required.

We got Rosco as a young pup. He is now almost 8 months old. The herding trait is really prominent in him. He is extremely bored in our home as we don't have any animals for him to herd. This dog NEEDS a job to do. I said he was good with adults but not with children only because he will nip at the heels of kids when they run, or pounce on the back of their legs. He is very high energy, and doesn't sit still for long. He would do best with bigger animals, such as other dogs, goats, sheep or cattle, little dogs, not so much...he traps them.     Young, adorable relationship-building dog needs to find his forever home!! Jax is a 2.5 year-old, lean 32 lb. Australian Cattle Dog mix who has been in foster care for most of his life. He is inherently fearful and needs to build trust through time & patience with a dog-savvy adopter, but he's so sweet, loving, and loyal, and builds such a strong bond once he does, it's worth every minute. He's very easily managed without any medications or special equipment. He's super intelligent, house-trained, does not mark or lift his leg, knows how to use a doggie door, and knows lots of commands. He's also vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He ... (Read More)has lived with two medium/large dogs and can potentially live with other appropriate, tolerant medium dogs if introduced properly. He does not seem fond of small dogs. He has also lived with cats and is fine with mellow ones. He will bark at those who tend to move erratically or show fear of dogs. He has also lived with foster kittens and has done very well, as they have no fear or apprehension. Jay has been around older, dog-savvy kids but would not be the ideal pet for a first-time dog owner. His ideal home would be fairly relaxed but with an active lifestyle & fenced yard. He is partially muzzle-trained for situations which could be too stressful for him (vet visits, exposure to unfamiliar people in new environments, etc.) but does well when introduced to new people in a safe, familiar environment. He loves to go for long walks and hikes, fetch tennis balls, chew on bones and toys, find toys or food, and work for treats. He can also entertain himself well and does not appear to have any separation anxiety or similar issues. He just needs a place to call his own, where he feels safe and comfortable. He will require a couple of visits in order to establish a relationship before going to his new home. Please call 818.632.6735 or email Kristin@svptv.com to meet this sweet boy!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-03-00404JACK (male)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jack is a playful pup, who wants people of his own, more than anything. At around 15 months old, he is full grown, weighing 53 lbs. Based on past experience, we feel sure he is a Labrador mix. However, when it comes to personality, Jack is all cattle dog/heeler and all boy! Having the classic cattle dog personality, Jack needs people who truly know and appreciate this breed. His foster mom says that Jack is just a sweetheart. With the right people, who have breed experience, and can spend the quality time to teach him, he will become a perfect dog. Jack has an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. His zest for life and loving ... (Read More)personality make him the best companion; but when this teenager digs his heels in sometimes, teaching him rules and boundaries takes patience and consistency. Jack craves human attention and love. He is big on cuddling with people and wants to be a lap dog. His 12 year old, human, foster sister lets Jack climb onto the sofa with her. He will happily lay alongside her for as long as she is there. If he cannot join you in a chair or sofa, he is happy laying at your feet. If you sit on the floor, he will crawl in your lap. And, he loves to have his chest/belly rubbed. He will close his eyes, and place his paws on your arm to tell you to keep going. As a moderate energy guy, Jack is a wonderful companion, who will hang out quietly with you for long periods of time, inside or outside. Jack is a typical smart, bubbly, enthusiastic cattle dog teenager. He needs active exercise each day. Two 30 to 60 minute sessions of all out playing or running, will keep him calm and happy the rest of the time. His playfulness comes out in bursts of energy. Jack will suddenly decide to run around, act silly, sometimes knocking into things. Running around the other day, he didn't know there was a bench on the other side of a picnic table, and ran into it at full speed. He just shook it off and continued running again. Jack can be willful when he really wants something, especially when he want to play with other dogs. If he gets his burst of energy, or is trying to get other dogs to play with him, and you tell him to calm down, he sometimes gets mouthy to insist on playing. He will take your hand with his mouth, to tell YOU to stop what you are telling him. His fosters tell him a firm No, turn away from him, sometimes giving him a time-out, until he is calm. When the situation passes, they will pet and reward his calmness. He needs continued work to learn rules and that he cannot always have his way. The great thing is Jack is a very smart, thinking dog, who learns quickly. He learned, after just one time, that his foster mom didn't want him to follow her in the bathroom. The next time she went in, he stood outside and waited and didn't come in. He loves to play with other dogs. If he is given a proper, formal introduction to other dogs, he meets well and will try to play with them in no time. He needs more socialization to learn how to meet, and be more polite and considerate with other dogs. Jack is a very quiet boy. The only time he will bark is when he is stressed, or upset. He rides very nicely in the car. He sits quietly and looks out the window. On leash, Jack also walks right with you. He doesn't pull. He also seems to be completely housebroken, and will go out to do his business right after he eats. Although he doesn't like being isolated or left alone, and will protest with two barks, he seems to settle after that. When his fosters left him for two hours, all was fine when they returned and he welcomed them back with excited body wags and almost bowled them over trying to rub up on them. Although Jack loves children, he should not be in a home with small children, who he could knock over, and because of his current tendency to be mouthy and nippy, when he tries to make something happen. He should probably not be in a home with a cat or rabbit. His fosters have a rabbit and when he sees it he fixates on it, barks at it, tries to make it run so he can chase it. In summary, Jack is a very bright, loving, and eager pup, who needs to make up for lost time to learn how to be polite. He doesn't have any meanness in him, just a willfulness and telling you what he wants in the only way he knows how. He just didn't know any better. We are seeking calm and experienced cattle dog adopters, with the ability to moderate his mouthy tendencies, and who can spend the time with him on basic obedience, and appropriate behaviors in different situations. Having another playful dog, his size, with the same play style, would be ideal. If you are interested in meeting Jack, please begin our pre-adoption approval process by completing our online adoption form, at http://hittgv.org/index.php/adopt (Less)

Sweet, sensitive, and simply lovely, this is Ember. She is a 4 year old Australian Cattledog female who is ready to finally like a good life. Ember had a rough past but she still have a warm heart. She is learning how fantastic it is to be someone's best pal, live in a house, and get to learn things. She already knows sit. She has also quickly been house trained. She likes to fit in and wants to learn. Initially shy, she does warm up quickly. She has a nice temperament but we think older kids would be better for her sweet nature. She is also nice with dogs, large and small. She would enjoy a playmate (see the video). She even spent time ... (Read More)with a Chihuahua and was a very nice girl. Ember is learning about the leash and learning quickly. She is already a good passenger in the car. She will make a wonderful out-and-about companion. Ember is super affectionate. She loves to cuddle in bed with her person. She likes gentle play. She even has a cute little dance when she welcomes her person home. Ember is a lovely girl who will blossom in a quieter home where just a bit of patience will help her finish her transition from stray to house diva. Ember is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is ready to meet potential adopters in So Cal. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Red, sassy, and looking for a home that adores Cattledogs: meet Autumn. This purebred 2.5 year old girl is a total gem and needs a home that knows how to help a Cattledog be all they can be. Autumn is a gorgeous red girl with a perfect white Bentley and a long Cattledog tail. She weighs about 50 pounds. Autumn was purchased as a pup and raised by the same owner. Over time, Autumn has proven to need a bit more and her current person is sad but knows that Autumn needs a new home. Autumn is crate trained. She also knows sit and will excel in a home that wants to teach her more. She is also good on a leash. She loves car rides and gets exited ... (Read More)to go. She would love a home that takes her on hikes and other places, a home that knows how to wear out a Cattledog girl. When you are headed home, Autumn is known to take the leash in her mouth and challenge you to a race home. Who is faster? Then, at home, she will give hugs. Yep, hugs to her person. Autumn is nice with women. She is slower to warm up to men, but she does like kids. She also loves to play with water. If you turn on the water hose and aim at her, she will be your best pal (see video). She also loves tug toys and will play with a rope. Autumn is a bit dog-selective. She isn't a fan of small dogs, which can be common with Cattledogs. She would thrive in a home that knows how to keep the pack order, especially if the other dogs are non-reactive. That will set her up for success. Autumn's herding drive causes her to chase horses and cats. A home without cats or livestock is best. Initially Autumn went everywhere with her person. However, Autumn likes to asset herself so she needs a home that knows how to manage Cattledog tendencies. In a home like that, she should be easy to correct with clear boundaries and rules. With that, she should really thrive. Autumn is up to date on vaccinations. She will be spayed soon. She is located in Riverside and is ready to meet a So Cal adopter with Cattledog experience. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-06-00355Cillian (male)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cillian is in a predicament and needs a new home with a little less social activity than his current home. He is about 18 mo. old, neutered, weighs about 55 lbs. and, best guess, is Cattle Dog/Kelpie. He's located in Redwood City and here's what his current guardians have to say about him: Since he was adopted, Cillian has been living with an 11 & 13 yr. old and their parents. Every week he goes for a playdate to work out some of his boundless energy with other dogs. He always gets a good report from the staff and has fun playing with the other dogs. He has completed 2 obedience classes and knows how to sit, stay, lie down, shake and can ... (Read More)even 'fist bump'. However, his household is a very social one with people always coming and going. When he gets walked, Cillian sometimes strains at the leash and barks defensively to keep others away. He is very loyal to 'his' people. He sometimes barks/pulls on his leash with some dogs as well, if they are on a walk. He has never been around cats but will chase squirrels. Much as they love him, his owners realize he is never going to be the therapy dog they were looking for and would be better off in a new home that has a little less social activity going on. Cillian would love to be in a quieter home with experienced dog owners that have the patience and understanding he needs. Could that be you? For information about Cillian email: thedogrescuespot@aol.com Photos updated at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1903777249838345.1073742457.1428374324045309&type=1&l=1a5ded2bad Central Coast Herding Dog Rescue, is a Rescue Alliance partner, a federally recognized 501(c)3 non profit organization, dedicated to finding great dogs, great homes.     Young, adorable relationship-building dog in foster care really needs his forever home!! Jax, a 2.5 year-old, lean 30 lb. Cattle Dog/Am. Staff. mix, has been in foster for nearly 2 years now, most of his life. He is inherently fearful and needs to build trust through patience with a dog-savvy adopter, but he's so sweet, loving, and loyal, and builds such a strong bond once he does, it's worth every minute. He's very easily managed without any medications or special equipment. He's super intelligent, housetrained, knows how to use a doggie door, and knows lots of commands. He's also vaccinated, micropchipped, and neutered. Now all he ... (Read More)needs is to find his forever home. He has lived with two medium/large dogs and can potentially live with other appropriate, tolerant medium dogs if introduced properly. He plays very well with my medium dog. He does not get along with small dogs. He has also lived with cats and is fine with mellow ones. He will bark at them if they move erratically or show fear. He has also lived with foster kittens and has done well. He has been around older, dog-savvy kids but would not be ideal for a first-time dog owner. He is partially muzzle-trained for occasions when a situation could be too stressful for him (vet visits, exposure to unfamiliar people in new environments, etc.) He loves to go for long walks and hikes, fetch tennis balls, chew on bones and toys, and work for treats. He can also entertain himself well and does not appear to have any separation anxiety or similar issues. He just needs a place to call his own, where he feels safe and comfortable. His rescue organization is Love That Dog Hollywood, but he has been in my home as a foster. I'd be happy to share additional details or answer any questions about this wonderful little guy! (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

This beautiful girl is Zippity Do Dawg, or Zippy for short. She was born in March, 2012, so is 5 years old. For those of us with herding dog experience, we know that this is an ideal age for this breed. This darling, spayed female Australian Cattle Dog was saved in the nick of time from near death at a local shelter. She was adopted to a wonderful older lady who recently passed away. Now, she needs a new home. She prefers a home with adults or possibly with older kids. Zippy is 5 years old, approximately 35 pounds, and knows her basic obedience: sit, stay, leave it, and lay down. She is also house and crate trained. She has been snippy ... (Read More)in the past with other dogs in the household and other visiting dogs, especially other female dogs, so she is looking for a home where she is the only dog and she can be a total shadow to her person. If there is another dog, it should be a lower energy male who is polite. This sweet girl is all about love. She is a bit velcro and likes to snuggle on the couch with her person. She has an average to lower heeler energy level and loves to be with her people. However, if you turn on the sprinkler, she turns zippy and will jump in for action. If you turn on the hose, she loves to bite the water. Zippy rides nicely in the car, often sleeping until you get to your destination. She also walks nicely on a leash. Zippy is ready for her forever home. She is microchipped, spayed, heart worm negative, and fully vaccinated. A vet reference and home visit are required as part of the adoption process. Grace loves to climb and balance on objects.%A0 %A0 When Grace's foster family first found her, she was very fearful. For the first few weeks, she army crawled throughout their house because she was afraid of the ceiling (it was likely her first time being inside).%A0She would freeze and then react if she saw a stranger (person or dog) over 400 ft. away.%A0She could not be in the same room with other dogs, and would even bark/react to dogs through a baby gate.%A0 %A0 In the few months that she has spent with her fosters, she has progressed a great deal. On leashed walks, she is able to walk within 30 ft. of other dogs and 15 ft. of strange humans, and still remain focused on her handler. If another dog barks at her, especially from behind a fence/barrier she will definitely bark back. She is alarmed by quick movements and wants to chase. She also reacts this way with squirrels and cats encountered on walks. With more rewards based training, she can learn to remain calm during these types of distractions. %A0 Grace is basically a submissive dog, who has only started learning how to live with other creatures in the past few months. She is continuing to improve, but still has some issues being around other dogs, especially when the dogs are moving. She can be in the same room with other dogs, but she tries to herd them if they move around too much. For this reason, she would do best in a home with no other dogs, or a much older dog, or a home where she could be kept separate from other dogs for a while in order to provide a slow introduction. During most of the day, she is in the house, where she is most relaxed and happy. Grace is calm in the house. When Grace isn't training or loving her people, she hangs out quietly in her crate. She is always crated while her fosters are away. Her crate is her safe space, and should be a part of her forever home.%A0Because Grace is a world-class athlete, she cannot be left unattended in a backyard. She could easily climb over (or dig under) a 6 ft. fence. Grace is completely housebroken. Grace is also getting more relaxed on car rides, since nearly all her rides have been to do fun things. We recommend that she ride in a crate when in the car. Grace is usually a very quiet girl, who just wants to hang out with her people and work with them. The only times can be a bit barky is when she is working on new tricks, and when her people leave her.%A0She will bark for a few minutes when her people leave, but quickly quiets down. We believe that Grace would be be happy in a home with a small yard and a person who enjoys training activities. Grace is NOT recommended for someone with an active (running, hiking) lifestyle, or who wants to take her everywhere with them. Since Grace is just now learning to meet people without panicking, we do not recommend her for a home with children, who can make sudden unpredictable moves.%A0 In summary, Grace is a sweet, loving girl, with incredible potential, who has had some extreme unknown trauma in her past. Grace is making excellent progress with her fosters, but her adopter(s) will need to continue the work. She is NOT for a novice dog owner. Her ideal forever home should provide plenty of time for her to bond with her person. She needs TLC, patience, reassurance, encouragement, and slow positive exposure to new things. Quiet country life would be best. Busy neighborhoods/urban living/dog parks are NOT for her.%A0 If you are interested in meeting Grace, please first complete our online adoption form, at hittgv.org. Go to the Adopt button near the top of the page, and scroll down for the online form. (Less)

Named Lucky because he truly is, this guy is a 5 year old Australian Cattledog who weighs about 27 pounds. Lucky is the kind of dog whose love you earn and, when you do, he is your best friend forever. He has had a rough time of it and a good samaritan stepped in to help him. Lucky, indeed. Now, he is looking for a home who doesn't mind taking it just a bit slow at first. Simple little things make all of the difference to him, such as talking to him before coming up to him, so he knows you are coming his way. Gentle leadership will help him relax and become even more wonderful than he already is. His foster mom wishes that she had fewer ... (Read More)dogs, so she could keep him. Lucky is a typically Cattledog in that he sometimes wonders about bigger dogs. He likes small dogs and would be fine with another medium-larger dog who isn't interested in being number one. He is also uninterested in the cat in the house, so should be fine with cats. Lucky is a smart guy. He learned his name in under a week. We don't know what his name was before he came to us. Also, he is house trained. He knows his basic commands: sit, stay, quiet, and come. He is initially excited to go on an adventure, but stops pulling on the leash after just a bit. He will walk right at your side, ready for whatever fun is in store. He does love car rides. He thinks that he would like to help drive by sitting on your lap. So, he is learning to stay on his side and will benefit from a dog seatbelt or crate in the car. Mostly, Lucky is a guy who wants a committed relationship. He has a cute smile, missing one tooth. When happy, he will come up and put his head on your chest. If you lay down on the floor, he is likely to come up and lay curled up against your arm. Once he loves, he loves deeply. Lucky is neutered and is current on his rabies vaccination. He will be up to date on his other vaccinations and microchipped before adoption. Lucky is ready to meet potential adopters in Southern CA. Out of area adopters will be happily referred to our favorite rescue partners. (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Minnie Pearl, a real pearl of a girl. She is a 7 year old pixie, weighing 29 pounds, and full of love with her long, cattledog tail. Don't let her smaller stature fool you. She is ready for an active home. Minnie is looking for a person who appreciates her love of fetching and will join in the fun. In fact, one could call Minnie a toy hoarder. She takes very good care of them and does not pull the stuffing out of her toys like some dogs do. She has been known to carry a toy with her around the house, holding it in her mouth as she walks along. Minnie Pearl currently lives with other dogs and likes them. Like all ladies, she ... (Read More)simply prefers a polite introduction upon meeting. With a few dogs, she will even play. A submissive or neutral dog would be a lovely companion for her. Miss Minnie Pearl is a very polite girl. She knows sit, wait, and off. She also walks nicely on a leash and rides politely in the car. She is ready for a person who wants to go places and take her along. Minnis is a sponge when it comes to learning. She is very interested in learning and would really blossom with additional training or even someone who wants to take her to flyball or agility. Minnie really focuses on her person. She is ready to make a deep bond and be someone's very best pal. That said, with her activity level, Minnie is not a fit for a home with kids under junior high age. Minnie is a lovely house pal. She is house trained and, if you ask, will go into her crate where she remains quietly until it is time to get out. Minnie Pearl is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to meet potential adopters in Southern CA. She is being fostered in the Inland Empire. Out of area adopters will be happily referred to local rescues. A home visit and vet reference are required. (Less)

lnteresting Australian Cattle Dog Trivia Low-Cost California Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Cattle Dogs were bred by 19th century Australian pioneers to herd cattle on large ranches. Australian Cattle Dogs are excellent at catching frisbees. The Australian Cattle Dog nips at a cow's heels to keep it in line with the herd, and may apply this technique to its humans from time to time as well.
