Rescue Me ID: 18-01-15-00075BUD (male)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bud is a healthy, 3 year old happyhappyhappyhappy canine athlete that needs break from his kennel and maybe a job. Bud would be the most fantastic hiking buddy. Or running buddy. Or anything-you-want-to-do-outside buddy. Bud is so smart and so eager to move that he might be a great candidate for agility, more advanced training, or a job of some kind. He is VERY toy-motivated and kicks butt at fetch and frisbee. Bud has been around other dogs and does OK. Kind of. He's just so excited to meet them, and he comes on a bit strong. He would definitely need slow introductions and would do much better with a younger, physically fit, and ... (Read More)equally rambunctious playmate -- after a while. For now, we recommend a home without any other animals until Bud has time to adjust and burn off some of his pent up energy. While Bud has met several kids here at the Rescue and has been friendly toward them, he has made it abundantly clear that the toy, usually a tennis ball, is top priority. He will jump and grab in an effort to get the ball out of someone's hand if that person isn't throwing it fast enough. Because his priority is the toy, he tends to be rough, and we'd recommend a home with just adults or with older kids. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-12-06-00296Fancy (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Fancy is a spayed 10 year old Heeler mix. Quiet, slightly shy Fancy came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after her own was no longer able to care for her. Now living the quiet life in a foster home she is dreaming of a new home to call her own! This pretty girl can be a little shy at first but with slow movements she will be licking your face in no time. Once she gets to know you she will be your little shadow and is happy to just be wherever you are. Fancy would love to have a home with an adult or 2 that have time to devote to her. Short walks, car rides, cuddles and face licking are musts in Fancy's life Fancy has ... (Read More)lived with other dogs during her lifetime but prefers dogs that are respectful of her space. Just like with people she wants to get to know her new friends a bit before she gives them her heart. She'd be happy to be the only dog or to live with others that are calm like she is. She grew up with cats and is indifferent about them which is always a plus. Fancy loves, loves, loves car rides! Just say 'load up' and she is a great co-pilot on daily errands. Fancy enjoys being with her person and once she trusts you she is stuck like glue in the house, but don't let her fool you- this girl will run if she's not on leash outside. So, a leash is required when not in a fenced area. She does have a little extra 'cushion' that needs to come off, so a household that can give her daily exercise and monitor her eating habits would be very beneficial to Fancy. She is kennel-trained and house trained. Fancy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you think you can give Fancy a quiet, loving home fill out an application today. Application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $50 adoption fee for Fancy (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-16-00128Chevy (male)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chevy is in need of some training, some special attention and lots of tlc. He has been passed around from home to home and never the kind of home he needed. He has spent too much time alone. Too much time on a chain and not enough interaction. This little man is a work in progress. He is coming along very well. We are hoping to change his life forever. He loves his yard and his toys, especially balls. Food is a super important thing in his life. He comes running when he's called in for dinner. He is better with women. Takes him awhile to warm up to men but if you have a snack, especially jerky he will be your best friend. ... (Read More)He is a bit rambunctious so would not be a good fit for small children. Chevy is so happy when he's out playing in the yard with one of his favorite people. He has a big ole smile and a fun little personality. He would do best as an only dog and definitely no kitties. He would love to go hiking and camping and have lots of room to play. He needs an inside home and a fenced yard. Chevy is an 18 month old Healer Pit bull mix. He is neutered, up on all his vaccinations and micro chipped. Please call Lorrie if you can take just a little extra time to give him a chance 208 339 0130 or email kjfam@dcdi.net (Less)

Australian Cattle Dogs were bred by 19th century Australian pioneers to herd cattle on large ranches. Australian Cattle Dogs are excellent at catching frisbees. The Australian Cattle Dog nips at a cow's heels to keep it in line with the herd, and may apply this technique to its humans from time to time as well. Australian Cattle Dogs are descended from several different breeds, including Dalmatians and Smithfield Collies, which are now thought to be extinct.
