    This pretty little girl is Helga - she is just a year old. We believe she is a Lab/Heeler mix. She is still very much a puppy. She came to us because she kept escaping from the home she was in - we believe she needs a home where she an get lots of exercise and a four legged companion to run around with. She is great with other dogs. She did have a slight problem with the boyfriend of her prior owner and she did nip him. We can tell you we have seen no aggression here. She is reported as housebroken.     Australian Cattle Dogs were bred by 19th century Australian pioneers to herd cattle on large ranches. Most Australian Cattle Dogs have a star-shaped marking on their foreheads called the Bentley Mark, after dog owner Thomas Bentley, whose purebred dog supposedly passed this mark on to all genuine Australian Cattle Dogs. Australian Cattle Dogs are excellent at catching frisbees. Australian Cattle Dogs are descended from several different breeds, including Dalmatians and Smithfield Collies, which are now thought to be extinct.
