Rescue Me ID: 15-05-27-00458Ally (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

If I could describe a this girl in one word, it would be PLAYFUL! Ally is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped female, Queensland Heeler Mix. She 11 months old and is very petite at 32#. Ally has grown up in rescue, she is a Parvo survivor and lived her entire life at a very dedicated rescue in Oklahoma, Ally is now in a foster home in Clancy, MT and adjusting to living in a home and being a house pet wonderfully! She lives with 12 other dogs in our home, all sizes, ages and sexes, she can be easily intimidated by other dogs but with slow introductions and understanding the other dog won't hurt her she plays great with all our ... (Read More)dogs after just one day, but she might enjoy females of the same size or smaller and equal energy level most. She is not at all possessive of resources and will allow all the dogs (even little ones) or people, take her toys or chews, she doesn't guard her food either and she avoids any and all confrontation. Ally is working on her home manners and basic obedience, she knows basic commands and is house and crate trained, she is incredibly affectionate and very eager to please you. Ally hasn't shown any interest in cats or kids, we think she would do fine with either as long as the kids were gentle and slow with her since she has never really been around them, she's very timid and learning, everything is brand new to her. As far as cats go, she hasn't bothered ours or shown any interest, we think with clear boundaries she would understand what they are just fine. Despite being on the timid side, Ally has greeted everyone who has visited very politely, warms up very quickly and likes to seek out attention from our friends. She walks good on a leash and loves to hike, with some work and bonding she would be a very trustworthy off-leash hiking partner! Ally would do best in an active home where she could go on a long walk, hike or run and have daily play and training time! She would do excellent in any doggie sports like herding, agility, fly ball, rally or whatever you would enjoy! Despite being an active breed, as long as she has daily stimulation in the form of a walk/run and training/play, she's pretty much content to snuggle and hang out. Ally would like a playmate but she's also content to play with you or (unusually) by herself even. We would love to find a home for Ally that would show her all the things she never got to see, do all the things she never got to do, her very own real home, the first she will ever have had! If that's you, please come meet this precious girl, she is so animated and hilarious, pictures just don't do her justice, you will be so happy you did! Please call 406-442-1060 or email: cpahach@mthyd.com for more information, pictures and any questions. Located in Clancy, Montana. We do not ship. Our dog adoption fee is $150. If you'd like to meet our dogs please fill out an Adoption application first, we also have a final adoption contract and home checks and meet and greets with family and family pets do apply. (Less)

Meet Dave. This sweet little man was surrendered for just being a dog! He is perfectly mannered, perfectly happy, perfectly house trained! He was entertaining himself by chasing kids that walked by his yard on the other side of the fence and his family didn't like it, so he was brought to the shelter. He was raised around children as his family operated a day home. He is just as sweet as cherry pie!
