He loves to play with his tennis ball and can catch it really well, likes to ride in the car. Will be a bit protective about his car. Walks on leash, needs a fenced yard. If being fed, small children should be kept away as he is food protective.

Toki is a 6 yr. old Heeler/Aussie X who's had a streak of bad luck lately. He was given away on Craig's List and he nipped a kid and the original owner would not take him back. Toki is full of energy and he is considered a high energy dog minus the few extra pounds he carries. He is a true Heeler at heart as he is into the chasing and retrieving game in fact he LOVES to play frisbee! I have to say I haven't seen a guy this fun for quit awhile and he will play and play until you give up. He's got some get up and go for a chubby guy! Toki does grab for his toys so teens 15 on up suggested due to his wanting to get to his toys. We haven't ... (Read More)noticed any intentionally nipping at people's hands just wants to play. Toki is a smart boy and he knows his commands and is very eager to learn. He even comes with a friendly handshake to show you all of his outgoing ways. When it comes to dogs and cats Toki is not interested in sharing the spotlight so a solo home Toki is a thumbs up! Toki would thrive in home were he can exercise his mind and body. He loves to play, run and we're guessing herd the cattle! This little country bumpkin is just waiting for his lucky break to move out to the sticks and show you what he's made of! Come meet our too fun Toki the boy with some frisbee talent! (Less)

Animal ID: 13-3919Summer (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Summer is a delightful dog full of energy and enthusiasm. She is an expert escape artist, so whomever adopts her will have to have a very close bond with her so that she does not want to roam. She would be better in a family without cats or small dogs because she has a very high prey drive. She has also been known to chase deer on occasion. If you have the leadership skills and the know how to help Summer stay home and not chase inappropriate animals, Summer may be the girl for you.

lnteresting Australian Cattle Dog Trivia Low-Cost Montana Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Cattle Dogs were bred by 19th century Australian pioneers to herd cattle on large ranches. Most Australian Cattle Dogs have a star-shaped marking on their foreheads called the Bentley Mark, after dog owner Thomas Bentley, whose purebred dog supposedly passed this mark on to all genuine Australian Cattle Dogs. Australian Cattle Dogs are excellent at catching frisbees. The Australian Cattle Dog nips at a cow's heels to keep it in line with the herd, and may apply this technique to its humans from time to time as well. Australian Cattle Dogs are descended from several different breeds, including Dalmatians and Smithfield Collies, which are now thought to be extinct.
