Rescue Me ID: 18-03-31-00209Lyric (male)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Lyric was abandoned by his owner and found his way to our door. He is a medium size, brown hair, amber eyed, affectionate, energetic little guy who needs a fenced in yard and lots of play time and loving. Lyric weighs 40 lbs, is 3 and 1/2 yrs old. We know this as he was adopted out through the Forsyth Humane Society which we chased down through his chip. He has seen our vet and we have updated him on his Rabies and Bordetella vacs and will be updated on his Distemper and start his Heartworm prevention (tested neg) this week. Lyric is house trained and super friendly. He does very well with come, sit, and lie down, so he has had some formal ... (Read More)training. He understands NO, and we are working on his leash and walking. We have been fostering Lyric for 2 weeks and we have a small spayed female Shih Tzu that he is around. He is equally friendly with woman and men, he has not been around children so we do not know. He seems fine with our 10lb 10 year old Shih Tzu, and has walked with our neighbors large female lab mix. Lyric would do best with someone who has a fenced in yard where he can run and play and fetch a tennis ball or two and be king of his castle. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-22-00275Snow White (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Due to no fault of her own, Snow White is now looking for her new forever home. Born September 24th, 2017. Listed as Cattle Dog Mix on her veterinary paperwork. Mother was rescued pregnant. I have no information on the father, and the breed listed comes from my veterinarian looking at the mother and litter of pups together. At this point in time, Snow White, as well as her siblings, have exceeded the size expectation I originally expected. Their mother weighs 35-40lbs, and the puppies are weighing in closer to 45-50lbs and are a little taller than her now too. It is possible these puppies are mixed with Great Dane. Snow White is ... (Read More)house-broken, crate-trained, and off-leash trained. She is a very loyal girl who loves to play and explore, but wants to be with her 'person' and cuddle up at any given time. Preliminary shots and deworming received while in my care. She will come with a copy of her veterinary documents for your records. Good with others dogs, cats, and kids. There is a spay contract. Adoption fee covers pull fees, vetting, and needed supplies for dogs pulled from local animal shelters. No holds. First come first serve is not my policy, best suited home is. (Less)

Sweet Remus needs a forever home! Rescued when he was a baby and he's been well taken care of. Fully vaccinated, heart worm negative, clean bill of health. I've taken him for regular checkups every few weeks. He's very social, loves to snuggle at home and to meet new people and animals away from home. He would really benefit at a home with a yard to run, and other dogs to play with. If he's the only dog, he needs plenty of play time and attention! Currently 6 months old, and weighs about 28 pounds. The vet believes he will be a medium sized dog weighing around 50 lbs. full grown.

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-15-00178Leia (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Princess Leia is a whole lot of dog in a manageable medium size at about 38 pounds. I got her about a year ago from the SPCA. I was drawn to her initial sweetness, intelligence, size, and cuteness. She has turned out to be more than I can handle however due to her strong tendency to resource guard and overprotectiveness of me. She is athletic, clever, and can be very sweet. She has a lot of potential to be a great companion for someone but only if they are used to handling or dealing with dogs that can be aggressive. She would also fit best with a single owner with no kids around or any aspirations of having a family. She is currently on ... (Read More)medication as recommended by the vet to help with the everyday household aggression and the meds have helped with that some. I had her DNA tested and she is 37.5% miniature pinscher, 25% Australian cattle dog, 25% asian/hound mix (probably the 'Carolina dog' in her), and 12.5% American Staffordshire terrier. She has potential to be a great companion if there is a proper fit out there to provide her with the life she deserves. She loves the sunshine, loves to chew her bones, play tug or keep away, and loves hikes in the woods. She'll get any bug out of your house and keep your yard critter free. If you have experience with this type of dog and think you can help her then please don't hesitate. Thank you (Less)

I don't know why I have been so shy since I was a puppy- and people look the other way because of that. I know I am a good boy, I just need the chance to show it to you. I love my foster family who has cared for me for months and they have shown me love and a good life. However I know that I cannot stay here forever, so I am hoping for a forever family very soon. I am a one year old male Red Heeler mix. We know mom is an Australian Cattle Dog and we believe dad is a Brittany Spaniel. I am mainly red with some white markings and adorable freckles. I received all of my puppy shots including rabies, bordetella vaccinations and was dewormed.I am ... lnteresting Australian Cattle Dog Trivia Low-Cost North Carolina Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Cattle Dogs were bred by 19th century Australian pioneers to herd cattle on large ranches. Australian Cattle Dogs are excellent at catching frisbees. The Australian Cattle Dog nips at a cow's heels to keep it in line with the herd, and may apply this technique to its humans from time to time as well. Australian Cattle Dogs are descended from several different breeds, including Dalmatians and Smithfield Collies, which are now thought to be extinct.
