Rescue Me ID: 18-01-14-00063Cruella (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This adorable and SWEET girl first came to us about a year ago and was adopted into what we all thought was her forever home. Sadly the family is going through some changes and the dogs need to be rehomed through no fault of their own. Cruella is now a 1-2 yr old fun, spunky and friendly medium sized cattle dog mix. She is playful. She has been around kids 3 years and over and reportedly did well with them. She has also lived with another dog, a puggle also up for adoption, and they could be adopted together or separately. Cruella is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed and ready to go today.

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

These two adorable sisters were networked from a high kill shelter so they would not be put on the euthanasia list. At 7 months old they were deteriorating and kennel crazy, Red Rock Rescue could not say no. These two need separate homes-one is more dominant than the other and has decided she needs to protect her sister, thus we are separating them now. the shyer of the two appears to be coming out of her shell with this arrangement. Cattle dogs need exercise, routine, and a job. They are a lovely working dog, the key phrase being a job- that could be running with your daily run (remember, a tired dog is a happy dog), hiking on a regular ... (Read More)basis, a fenced in yard that allows 'hunting' of leaves and sticks and grass and balls and frisbees, or agility training, therapy dog training. We are joking that they look a bit like hyenas....their coloring is as odd as it is beautiful. Neither of these pups have any real manners, we are working on that with in the foster home right now. Evaluation of these two happy energetic pups continue, as does their socialization with dogs and humans! (Less)

Have had the dog since a pup but now I am having kids and don't have time to give him the proper attention and training he needs. I don't want him around my kids cuz he can be aggressive towards them at times I also don't have the room for him in my house due to having three kids now. He would be a great dog if someone had the time to give him proper training and the attention he needs.

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Piper is two years old. We are trying to rehome her because of conflict with our other dog. She will need someone with enough time and patience to work with her. She is a very sweet girl, but leery of strangers. She would be best suited for a home without small children or other pets. I wouldn't recommend apartment living for her. Her bark is very high pitched and she can be quite vocal at times. In our experience, Piper can only tolerate one brand of dog food (Purina Pro Plan). Piper is very smart and full of energy! She needs a lot of play time outdoors to counteract this. She knows a few basic commands and is always eager to learn. She ... (Read More)loves nothing more than to spend every minute with her person. She is a bit more 'needy' than the average dog. She truly wants to be where ever you are at *all* times. She will be a great companion for the right person and we hope to find that for her! (Less)

Australian Cattle Dogs were bred by 19th century Australian pioneers to herd cattle on large ranches. Australian Cattle Dogs are excellent at catching frisbees. The Australian Cattle Dog nips at a cow's heels to keep it in line with the herd, and may apply this technique to its humans from time to time as well.
