Daisy is a beautiful purebred Blue Heeler who is full of energy and enthusiasm. She is 2 years old and weighs just 25 lbs. Daisy would be a great running or jogging partner. Rescue Me ID: 17-01-09-00118Lady Bug (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

LADY BUG is a beautiful, young red and white Shepherd mix (possibly Red Heeler) female who was seen running around a motel in Paris, TN, for several days. A man from California who was staying at the motel wanted to see that she was safe before leaving the area. He did not want her to go to a shelter where she might be euthanized so he took her to a local vet who then contacted the rescue. Lady Bug is now safe and under our care. The vet estimates she is around one year of age and she weighs 44 pounds. She is vetted, vaccinated, spayed and will be microchipped. She tested positive for microfilaria and so she will undergo heartworm ... (Read More)treatment to insure she will be heartworm free. Those who have met her say she is a sweet girl who is very calm, easy and gentle, loves to play, and lays down and rolls over for belly rubs. Sounds like Lady Bug is a Love Bug. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Lady Bug if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received. (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Lexi! Lexi is approximately 5 years old and 60lbs. She will need to lose a few pounds, but is healthy, happy and loves pretty much everyone! Her mother was a beautiful Springer Spaniel, and she never told anyone who the father was. Judging from the variety in the litter, he could have been a a Blue Heeler or a mix of Blue heeler/ Lab. Lexi is as delightful as can be! Lexi loves people, and she's just a great all-around dog. She's ready for her forever home with a good person. Lexi weighs about 55 pounds, and she is as colorful in personality as she is in appearance. Lexi has a Heeler look with blue speckles on parts of her body and ... (Read More)tan speckles on others. She is a beauty! If you're not careful, she will steal your your heart. Her favorite place is in anyone's lap or right by their side. Her playfulness is matched only by her desire to cuddle with you. Lexi is waiting for you! ***This beautiful dog is currently in a shelter but has received full vet care and we will provide FREE volunteer transport to a foster or forever home'|please don't let that stop you from adopting! Rescue Me ID: 16-12-03-00409Bullet (male)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bullet is super smart, super attentive and, as you can see, super handsome. We want an owner who understands him and can give him the exercise, training and guidance he craves for. Because Bullet is a strong boy, we feel a home with children over 10 years old is wanted, although Bullet is very gentle in play and in the household, a younger child will not be able to walk him, when he gets excited and silly he shows this by pulling on the leash. He is loving, alert and fun. He loves to play with the water hose and will make a great companion to an older child, or someone who wants a dog with high energy to go adventuring with. Bullet does ... (Read More)have a high chase drive (cars mostly) , so a fenced in area for him to get his exercise and play safe off leash is a must. This chase drive is something that we feel, with enough training by a dedicated owner, can be curved. Bullet has got a lot better since being in foster care and now responds and stops when called back. If you are interested in adopting this drop-dead handsome genius please call 1-866-304-3352 and ask for Bullet! We are a shelterless Humane Society. If you are interested in adopting, you can call our hotline, 1-866-304-3352. This is an answering service. Your call will be returned when a volunteer gets your message. This may take up to several hours so please be patient. For a quicker response to your inquiry, email us, sjjd@bellsouth.net. Rescue Me ID: 16-11-10-00077Hope (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

HOPE is her name and hope is also what we have that this sweet dog will find an inside home before winter weather gets worse. Hope was found standing in the middle of a highway in rural NW TN. She would not move until a nice man coaxed her to him so that she would not get hit by a car. The volunteers who have met her say she is 'super sweet'. She seems to adjust well and already seems comfortable in her new foster home. She loves to play and loves car rides. She has a lot of energy so daily walks and a fenced yard would be very good for her. She has shown no aggression. Hope is around 1 year of age, and she is a medium-sized dog. ...     Ellie loves to cuddle on the couch and give hugs! She obeys well to Sit, Treat, Shake hands. She loves to ride the country roads, loves squeaky toys, and walks on a leash. She 98 % red heeler, but not sure if she is purebred. She also like to be where you are most of the time. I recently took on a job that requires more time for me to be away from home, & Ellie deserves a family to give her the family love she has to offer. She's protective of her humans so she has a bark but no bite. She sounds like a lion when someone drives up, but if you are ok they are ok and fine by her. Rescue Me ID: 16-10-09-00107Asia (female)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Asia is a beautiful, smart, quiet girl! She is about 2 1/2 to 3 years of age and weighs 37 pounds. She is definitely a Cattle Dog but may have an ounce or two of something else as she is sporting double dewclaws on her hind feet. Asia is fully vetted and has successfully completed treatment for heartworms. She is good with children, other dogs, and cats. Asia is house trained and crate trained but still has some fear issues that we are addressing, with good results. She will walk on a leash but is hesitant. However, she is great off leash, will stay close by you and has excellent recall. We do not know her history, except for her time with ... (Read More)us, and can only guess at the cause of her fearful response. We think Asia might do better in a country home where she would need to be leashed only for vet visits or other outings. Our program fee is $150 and we have an application process to insure that Asia is a good fit for your family. Please let us know if you'd like more information or would like to meet this stunning girl! (Less)

Samantha is a precious little medium sized Australian Cattle Dog mix. She is 25 pounds. She is about 8 years old. She was pulled from a local animal control. We came across her at the clinic where she was spayed because while at animal control her spay scar had become infected. Luckily for her, she was there at the right time as one of our board members saw her and secured a foster home same day. She is housetrained and will hold it until you take her out even if it has been 12 hours. She is so good and sweet. Would make a great family dog. Samantha's adoption fee is $200. We can't turn him into animal control they will put him down and that would make her already broken heart worse. He comes with a kennel, blanket and toys.

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Cattle Dog in Tennessee
Australian Cattle Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Cattle Dog is one of the most intelligent dog breeds, needing a lot of attention to stave off boredom. A neglected Australian Cattle Dog can become destructive. Australian Cattle Dogs have strong herding instincts and behave best when they have plenty of space and a job to do. Australian Cattle Dogs are well suited to farms and homes with large yards; they do not do well confined to an apartment or other small space. Australian Cattle Dog
lnteresting Australian Cattle Dog Trivia Low-Cost Tennessee Spay & Neuter Clinics
Australian Cattle Dogs were bred by 19th century Australian pioneers to herd cattle on large ranches. Most Australian Cattle Dogs have a star-shaped marking on their foreheads called the Bentley Mark, after dog owner Thomas Bentley, whose purebred dog supposedly passed this mark on to all genuine Australian Cattle Dogs. The Australian Cattle Dog nips at a cow's heels to keep it in line with the herd, and may apply this technique to its humans from time to time as well.
