Boomer is a special boy! He is so loving a protective. Loves his baby swimming pool in the warm weather! He is frightened by fireworks and thunderstorms so he is used to being allowed to sleep in a garage during those times. It breaks our hearts to part with our boys but our home has sold and we cannot take them into an apartment setting. They deserve a fenced yard and lots of play time. Boomer is microchipped He is great with most strangers but is protective so he must be approached calmly until he gets to know you!

Hi! My name is Barnabas. I am a 2 year old Cattle Dog Mix. So here is the skinny on me. My sister Amelia and I were extremely emaciated so we were taken from our living situation. We were super lucky that the good people saved us when they did. I am gaining weight like a champ. Did you know they make peanut butter treats for dogs? Man those things are so good. I am very friendly and affectionate. I love to give lots of kisses and enjoy being a cuddle bug. I am UTD on all my shots and neutered. I am HW positive but will be treated prior to my adoption. I get along with my peers and kids too. So all I need now is a cozy couch and a comfy ... (Read More)lap to lay on. Hey bring some of those peanut butter treats too. Your going to love them! My adoption fee is only $200. Please apply for me online at http://www.adoptapet.com/rural-animal-rescue-effort-rare/adoption-application-2/ or email ruralanimalrescueeffort@gmail.com and we'll get one to you today! Barnabas is heart-worm positive, but will be treated prior to adoption, at no extra cost to the adopter. We'd be happy to explain about heart worms and the treatment, so please don't let this stop you from adopting this sweet boy! (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Lexi is as delightful as can be! Lexi loves people, and she's just a great all-around dog. She's ready for her forever home with a good person. Lexi weighs about 65 pounds and a little overweight, but that can be fixed with a little exercise! She is as colorful in personality as she is in appearance. Lexi has a Heeler look with blue speckles on parts of her body and tan speckles on others. She is a beauty! If you're not careful, she will steal your heart. Her favorite place is in anyone's lap or right by their side. Her playfulness is matched only by her desire to cuddle with you. She is a calm companion, but she loves to run and will need ... (Read More)room to run, or a person to run with her. Lexi is waiting for you! ***This beautiful dog is currently in a shelter but has received full vet care and we will provide FREE volunteer transport to a foster or forever home%BD'%BD|please don't let that stop you from adopting! We are accepting applications to adopt each of the Tennessee dogs listed so they can get out of the shelter. **Rural Animal Rescue Effort is a foster home based rescue - we do not have a shelter or kennel facility nor do we have regular hours when our companions can be seen. For the safety of our foster caregivers and our animals, applications must be submitted and references checked prior to setting an appointment for a Meet and Greet with our dogs in our foster homes.** All of our dogs have some potty training under their belly, however, dogs less than 8 months of age are not considered reliably potty trained. All of our dogs are up to date on vaccinations, including rabies if they are old enough. Microchipping is included in the adoption fee. Adoption fee covers: All age appropriate Vaccinations, including rabies (if old enough) Worming Flea treatment Spay or neuter surgery Pre-surgical blood work Post-surgical pain management Microchip Rural Animal Rescue Effort provides safe transport of all our animals to their new homes unless other arrangements are made. Animal ID: 15-06-21-00496Hot Mess Houlihan (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hot Mess Houlihan got her name because she came in a hot mess. She showed up at a nice person's house as a stray and gracious she was a trainwreck. She had a skin infection, super thin, and heartworm positive. We are estimating her to be about 3 years old so we were not surprised at the heartworm positive part just because heartworms are so common around here. Hot Mess is VERY sweet and chilled and we are guessing she is a red heeler beagle mix based on her size and color. She is very kind, sweet, appreciative of any affection because we don't think she got a lot of it in her life, and is good with dogs who don't try and jump her. She is ... (Read More)currently in foster care with Cindy. Hot Mess is spayed and current on her vaccines. Please ask about her today! (Less)
