Rescue Me ID: 16-07-19-00632Seth (male)
Meet Seth! Seth is a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix gentleman who is the happy rescue from a cruelty case. This sweet boy was rescued from a neglectful home where he had been kept on a chain so long that the chain had become imbedded in his neck. He was rescued and treated, and beside a scar on his neck, you would never know he had been mistreated. Seth is a typical Cattle Dog- he has excellent leash walking skills and manners, is great with other dogs, but not overly interested in playing with them, and highly connected to his people. Seth has a kind soul and deserves nothing less than the absolute best forever home to show him the love he has never known. If you would like to welcome this handsome man into your home, please submit a free application for Seth http://countryroadanimalrescue.webs.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-16-00011Kori (male)
Please help, I'm running out of time!!! This is kori an approx 2year old lab/blue healer mix and due to circumstances beyond my 11 year olds control we have to find him a new forever home with someone good with rehabilitation and no small children, no cats. He is very anxious and we believe came from an abusive past. We rescued him about 2 years ago. We were told he was a stray. He is fully vaccinated and neutered. We can't turn him into animal control they will put him down and that would make her already broken heart worse. He comes with a kennel, blanket and toys.

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-29-00569Gunner (male)
Meet Gunner! He sure is a handsome, isn't he?? Gunner is an energetic heeler mix about 2 years old and is super smart. Gunner thrives on being praised, to him the words 'good boy Gunner' are worth more than a box of dog treats. He has already mastered house training and crate training and always eager to learn new things. Gunner is also great with other dogs..cats not so much, he finds too much joy in chasing them. He's never hurt a cat, but accidents can happen so he's best not being around cats. Gunner is a favorite at his foster home, his sweet demeanor, combined with his willingness to learn and please, make him a perfect companion for a family that enjoys daily outdoor activities. He weighs about 48 pounds and only stands 21 inches tall, perfect for some agility training. If you'd like to add this awesome boy to your family, please apply online at http://www.adoptapet.com/rural-animal-rescue-effort-rare/adoption-application-2/ Home visit, application and vet reference is required. Transport can be arranged at no additional cost. **Gunner is UTD on vaccinations, on heartworm preventative, neutered and micro-chipped. Transport can be arranged at no cost to her approved home or an approved foster. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-29-00003Jean (female)
Meet Jean! Jean came to us from a home where she was abused at a young age. She was with people who don't realize what it takes to raise a puppy of her magnitude. They tried to crush her spirit but she did not give up on being a happy go lucky dog. She was terribly fearful of men when coming to us, and after a few weeks with our rescue she has improved quite a lot. She not only is getting less fearful but she also makes effort to trust men some more. If a man is willing to work with her, and show her they will not hurt her, she will warm up just fine. Jean has a big personality for such a small body! She loves toys, especially squeaky ones! She will play fetch, in-fact, she will demand it. She likes to drop the ball at you as if to say 'Come on!! PLAY!!' She likes to cuddle. Loves to play with other dogs! She curious about cats and will try to play. She is currently still working on potty training, but she is kennel trained! Jean is a Red Heeler Australian Cattle Dog. She currently weighs about 25 lbs, but is rather small and probably won't get much bigger. She is current on her first set of puppy vaccinations, however we are awaiting her examination she we have yet to determine if she is fixed and/or free of any internal parasites such as worms, i.e. We will have updates on that to come, and if you are interested it will be something that needs to be done prior to being adopted, or can be arranged afterwards. Upon adoption, Jean will come with a toy, some food, and a few treats! Along with all of her paperwork. We do require an application and contract to be filled out in order to adopt jean, as well as an adoption fee. This not only supports our rescue and goes toward vet work, but also ensures she goes to a great home that can properly care for her. I can email you the application, and if we feel you are a good fit we can arrange for you to meet Jean! Please let us know if you have any questions. We hope Jean could possibly find her furever home with you. Thank you for rescuing! (Less)

Animal ID: 16-05-22-00115Penny (female)
She is a very sweet and submissive dog, a little territorial sometimes though. She is fully house trained and I have had her for 2 years now and I rescued her from adopt a pet. She was due for her yearly checkup this month but I figured the new owners would take her to a vet anyways! I don't have a yard big enough to give her the excersize she needs and I'm having to work a lot lately so I need to find her a good home preferably one with a farm with animals since she does tend to herd people. I have 2 teenage girls that have been around her and she does really good on a leash too! I've taken her walking all over and she has gotten along with everyone and most other dogs too! It's mostly when she sees another dog around our house that she gets territorial. Any other questions you might have please feel free to contact me! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-07-00083Mary Jane (female)
MJ aka Trixie is a beautiful dog who never had the proper socialization. She needs a gentle, consistent person with the patience of Job. MJ enjoys interacting with people, but she must first know that she can trust. She enjoys playing with other dogs, and she loves treats. MJ probably would not make a good first dog. She should be with someone who understands the needs of an unsocialized dog. She is smart, and we believe she will make a good companion for someone with time, talent, and dedication for transforming MJ into everythng she can be. I am spayed, UTD on my vaccinations. If you would like to adopt me, please apply online http://www.adoptapet.com/rural-animal-rescue-effort-rare/adoption-application-2/ or email email@example.com and we'll get one to you. |Animal ID: 15-06-21-00496Hot Mess Houlihan (female)|
Hot Mess Houlihan got her name because she came in a hot mess. She showed up at a nice person's house as a stray and gracious she was a trainwreck. She had a skin infection, super thin, and heartworm positive. We are estimating her to be about 3 years old so we were not surprised at the heartworm positive part just because heartworms are so common around here. Hot Mess is VERY sweet and chilled and we are guessing she is a red heeler beagle mix based on her size and color. She is very kind, sweet, appreciative of any affection because we don't think she got a lot of it in her life, and is good with dogs who don't try and jump her. She is currently in foster care with Cindy. Hot Mess is spayed and current on her vaccines. Please ask about her today! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting an Australian Cattle Dog in Tennessee
Australian Cattle Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Australian Cattle Dog is one of the most intelligent dog breeds, needing a lot of attention to stave off boredom. A neglected Australian Cattle Dog can become destructive. Australian Cattle Dogs have strong herding instincts and behave best when they have plenty of space and a job to do. Australian Cattle Dogs are well suited to farms and homes with large yards; they do not do well confined to an apartment or other small space. Australian Cattle Dogs are loyal and very obedient with attentive training. An Australian Cattle Dog tends not to do well with children unless it has known them since it was a puppy. Australian Cattle Dogs may be very close to their masters and reluctant to accept other people.
